Biodegradable vs Recyclable: Which is Better?

February 2024

‘What’s the difference?’, you might ask as a chill breeze runs outside my window. It’s a great question! When delving into sustainability choices for your packaging needs, knowing what each term means is essential. Biodegradable materials break down into natural elements once disposed of properly; they’re delightful in their own way! They’re like a meal that feeds soil instead of cluttering landfills.

‘Recyclable’ is equally important but works differently—it means that materials can be processed and remade into new products after use. Think about those bottles you send off to the recycling center! Both options are fantastic ways to reduce waste but serve slightly different roles in our environmental efforts.

‘So which should you choose?’ Well, it often comes down to your business model and operational needs; context matters! Embrace both types when possible to complement each other and give customers more responsible choices.
